Philosophy! An e-mail to my cousin.
One of my cousins (the one with the adorable almost-3-year-old) is taking online classes at the local community college. One of them is Philosophy 101! I’ve been helping her with her homework. I sent her this e-mail, inspired by the post by stumblingneon:

Oh no! What a horrific mistake! That kid is probably going to grow an extra limb or get a never before heard of disease!
This just in!: I’ve been drinking milk from cows that did not give birth to me for most of my life! OH NO!

The issue is the standard of beauty being set by what turns men on. You could argue that the standard of male beauty is what turns women on, which is true, but the big, important difference is that the ability to turn on women with their physical appearance is not the thing men are primarily judged by.
